FAQs

Wedding Invitation QR Code — Questions Answered

Does every AreOne wedding invitation include a QR code?
Yes. Every invitation on AreOne generates its own unique QR code automatically — there is no extra step and no separate QR tool needed. The QR code is linked to your invitation's unique URL and is available from the moment you start designing.
Is the QR code free?
The QR code is generated during your free 7-day planning window — no credit card needed to design and preview it. To publish your invitation live so that guests can actually open the link when they scan, you need Event Pass — a one-time fee per event, not a subscription.
What does the QR code link to?
The QR code links directly to your invitation page — the same URL guests use when you share the link via WhatsApp or email. When a guest scans it, they land on your full invitation with your names, date, venue, photo, and RSVP form.
Can I print the QR code on paper stationery?
Yes. You can download your QR code as a PNG image and add it to any printed material — save-the-date cards, envelopes, table cards, or wedding programs. It prints cleanly at any size from a standard inkjet or laser printer.
What size should I print the QR code?
A minimum of 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm (about 1 inch square) is enough for most phone cameras to scan reliably. Larger is always better — if you have space, 4 cm x 4 cm or bigger gives the fastest scan at arm's length.
Does the QR code expire?
Your QR code stays active as long as your invitation is published. Event Pass keeps your invitation active until 10 days after your wedding date — so the QR code on printed materials stays functional through the whole wedding period.
Can guests scan the QR code without downloading an app?
Yes. Modern iPhones and Android phones scan QR codes directly from the native camera app — no third-party scanner needed. Guests point their camera at the QR, tap the notification that appears, and land on your invitation in their browser.
What happens when a guest scans the QR code?
Their phone camera detects the QR, shows a tap-to-open prompt, and opens your invitation page in their browser — no app download, no account creation. From there they can read the invitation details and submit their RSVP directly.
Can I use the QR code on my invitation before I publish?
You can preview and download the QR code during the free 7-day design window. The QR itself will not be scannable by guests until you publish your invitation with Event Pass — but you can test the full experience yourself in preview mode.
Can I share the QR code via WhatsApp?
Yes. Download the QR code as a PNG and send it as an image in your WhatsApp group. Guests can open WhatsApp, tap the image to view it full-screen, then use their camera to scan. It also works inside WhatsApp's in-app camera.
