04Our Traditions
Jumping the Broom
An African-American rite symbolising the sweeping away of the old and the leap into a new life together.
Tasting the Four Flavours
Lemon, vinegar, cayenne and honey — the couple taste the sour, bitter, hot and sweet of life, vowing to share them all.
Kente Blessing
Elders drape the couple in handwoven Kente cloth — each pattern a proverb, each colour a prayer for their union.
Pouring of Libation
Water is poured to honour the ancestors and invite their blessing upon the marriage.

08Our Story
Couple

Amara and Kwame met at a Highlife concert in London — she was visiting from Lagos, he'd grown up in Accra. They danced until the lights came up and have been finding their way back to the same rhythm ever since. Now they bring their two families, and two homelands, together.

Dinner, dancing, and late-night desserts to follow.
